As we roll into spring The Snow Pack in the Missouri River Drainage is currently at 80% of normal. This translates into potential low flows for the summer months ,however a lot can change, namely in the form of more snow and a good rains can easily turn things around. From a Missouri River Fly-fishing POV this means we will have great fishing early (April-July ) it will slow down in early August then pick up as Summer wanes and temperatures drop in late August. Our Projection is that perhaps 2022 will be a repeat of 2021 which was the early season Dry Fly-Fishing should good, then waning towards mid -July. Streamer fishing with be good in May into June then hit and miss after that.Nymph fishing of course will be good all season. Our Hopper fishing from late July into September was very good.
