With snow and cold hitting Montana we have high hopes that we will have normal or above average flows going into the Missouri River Fly-fishing Season. If thats the case Clients can expect some great flows through out the season which we like as increased flows will spread out The Missouri River Brown and Rainbow Trout throughout the River making fishing that much more enjoyable. The Dry Fly flats will once again become more active and fishing the holding water along the banks will also be more productive. In other words the Missouri River Trout will be less concentrated compared to the last couple of seasons. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

Our Missouri River Fly-Fishing Season gets going in May and runs through and into October. Our Peak months are June ,July and September however if you are thinking about planning a Missouri River Fly-Fishing Trip we do have some great pre-runoff fishing in May.

August is a very over looked month for Fly-Fishing Montana’s Missouri River, traditionally its been in the peak of the heat and water Temperatures can be a little warm, however with the way conditions are starting to shape up this August could be stellar.
